I have been a biologist with the U.S. Geological Survey since 1990. Previously, I was employed by the Adirondack Lakes Survey Corporation (Ecological Analysts), Lockheed Environmental Services Company, and the University of Nevada Las Vegas. My current research interests include: (1) the effects of inorganic aluminum and acidification on fish and macorinvertebrate communitites and on fish survival, (2) the relations between stream habitat and salmonid populations and between stream habitat and endangered mussel populations, and (3) the behavioral response of salmonids to water-treatment chemicals. I received my B.S. in Biology from Utica College of Syracuse University and my M.S. in Fisheries Biology from S.U.N.Y. College of Environmental Science and Forestry. I have authored more than 20 journal articles and U.S. government reports.
